Youth summit

Youth summit was on 26 October, 2016. Youth summit is a event where all the leadership classes from the whole district gathers. We went to the Curtis culwell center for youth summit. I was a facilitator at youth summit. I was partnered up with Patricia Diaz, we were given positive values. We had table 14 and we needed to do activities and explain the participants about the positive values. I really enjoyed at youth summit because it was really fun and you get to make new friends, meet old friends and get to know what community services other schools are doing at their schools. the thing that I liked the most was that we got to meet students from Taiwan, who are visiting America, I got to know them and more about their culture and country.

Jonathans place

Jonathan's place is a place for abused, abandoned children. We decided to give some supplies to jonathan's place, so that we can help the children over there. Last time when we did this project we had 3 boxes with supplies. But this year we have 5 boxes of supplies.

We named this project "keeping hope alive".We decided to get boxes first, and after that we started making posters. And after making posters we posted the posters all around the school and on that poster we also wrote where they can go to donate the stuff. We also decorated the boxes as a gift box. We made small posters to stick it on the boxes, so that they can know which box contains what. We had 5 boxes, we had toys, old clothes, new clothes, household supplies, etc.

We made the posters and I helped my classmates post it in the school. I also made the powerpoint for the announcements, so that more and more people can know about Jonathan's place, and if they want they can donate. I helped my classmates making the small posters. and after we finished the packing of the boxes and all. We sended it to Jonathan's place.

Key leader camp

Key leader camp is a leadership camp, this camp was so fun. It has five important key leadership values, personal integrity, personal growth, respect, building community, and pursuit of excellence. This camp not only taught us many important lessons of our life, and taught us leadership values but also this camp was so much fun, and I really enjoyed over there.

It was a weekend camp, we needed to be at the school at 7:30 am, and we will leave at 8:00 am, it took us like 45 mins to reach the camp. When we reached there, the facilitarors were already there holding a board and welcoming every school. When we went to the hall, we pasted our hand prints on a paper and then we got another paper in which it had so many questions and we needed to go to different people and ask them to answer anyone of those. I really like this idea, by doing this we can got to know other people who came from different schools, we got to know them so quickly. We were divided in neighbourhood groups. We did community challenges, we learned so many things.

We needed to give our group a name, and my group came up with the "crazy monkeys" name. We were also supposed to make a cheer for our group. I really enjoyed over there. The things that Mrs Jane taught us, i will never forget them they made a really good effect on my life and it will also help me in the future. We did a lot of things over there, the food was also so good, the community challenges helped me get to know my neighbourhood, and so on. But my favorite thing that we did over there was the glow community party. I want to go there again next year.

Good deeds

Yesterday I went to Walmart, when I was about to leave, I saw an old man carrying so many bags, and they were looking heavy and I could see that he was having trouble carrying those bags.

I went to the old man and told him excuse me sir, can I help you carry those bags, and then I took the bags from him, and those bags weren't only looking heavy those bags were heavy. After that I walked with him to his house. His house was like 10 or 15 minutes away from Walmart, and when I was about to leave his house he said god bless you child.

That one blessing is worth any of the precious gems in the world for me because, whenever I help someone it gives me the best feeling in the world, it makes me happy. And that was my good deed.

Readers are leaders

Readers are leaders was a great event. This event was held at Curtis Culwell center. It was like a book fair, we were given free book coupon, so by using that, we could buy books up to $45. This event was from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

There were three sections, first was the hall in which they had all kind of books, the second one was a room, in which a lady was reading books for kids, and last but not the least their was a food counter. As i reached there I saw some volunteers but, soon the volunteers were there. We were given an id card. People started to arrive and soon enough the place was full with people. We were helping and directing people. helping them knowing what they could do or where they need to go to get books and so on.

I reached there at 5:10 pm. I saw some of my friends and volunteers when I reached there. So, I went over there and I got my card then when the people started to arrive we were approaching them and checking if they need any help after a while I went inside to get the books I want. After that I was helping ms Jenn collecting extra tickets, for the draw. It was a very fun night. I really enjoyed over there, and hope to go to this event again.

School Lunch Hero

School lunch hero is a project by which we got to thanks our school cafeteria people, for helping us, providing us lunch, and working so hard for us.

My classmates were so hardworking during the whole project. Our class decided to give a t-shirt to the cafeteria people, we cutted out some designs, and started spraying paint on the t-shirt. The t-shirts had some pictures related to food, and we also sprayed school lunch hero on it. We also created a poster for school lunch hero.

I was helping my classmates making the poster. I really like the idea of this project. By doing this project our class got to thanks the cafeteria people, and I enjoyed doing this project.

College Clique

College clique is a project by leadership class that will help students to choose or to decide which college they can go or they want to go. For college clique's project we made a word template and we wrote about different colleges. Each student has a different college.

My classmates were so  hardworking and energetic, most of the people finished there college clique's very soon. The information that we wrote was like what is the name of the college, where is this college, what is the school mascot, what is the cost to join this college, what does the campus looks like, what are the are the things that they do at the college, how many students are there at the college, and some other extra info. We also posted the picture of the college, the campus and some other pictures, to give the students a view of how does the college and its campus looks like.

For me I got the University of Texas at Austin, this university is the best university in this whole country or the world. When I was doing my template for this university I got to know that this university has two radio stations one is called  KUT which provides news and information, and KUTX  for music.
